This is the last step and this is when the whole structure is basically un formed. One either starts another goal or it basically dissipates. (Kinicki & Fugate, 2016,) Influence of Group Development For a team to finish all the stages of the development process, every one of the team must finish the goals of each stage. Without finishing each of the stages effectively, the group can’t be effective enough to finish the next stage. Your group has to be unified. Everyone has to be on the same page and in turn meet all the goals and finish the five steps listed above. If anyone in the group rebels and does not finish a portion of the work than group effectiveness will be hindered and in turn means failure. Conclusion
6 So in conclusion the self-assessment can help someone point out weaknesses in team work. The self-assessment can also be somewhat misleading if one does not answer honestly at all times. It makes a great point to show people their strengths and weaknesses. Team member effectiveness is important not only for personal success but that of the overall team as well. When teams become too large the effectiveness of the team can be hindered by social loafing. Also no one likes the social loafer-just do your work. Teams are a great resource and help to promote great results, if you follow the five development stages with your group you’re on your way to success.
