view made the story a lot deeper because you get to see the effects of someone spiraling out of control and then coming back from a different perspective. You also get to see the individual choices that person has to make in order to help or not help his brother. His brother ended up writing him and offering him his help. His brother ended up writing him and offering him his help. “Then I kept in constant touch with him and I sent him whatever I could and I went to meet him when he came back to New York” (Baldwin 56). If he had not helped his brother or did not keep in contact with Sonny, he may have never gotten better. It also shows how our own individual actions can change and affect someone’s life. The conflict in the story is that Sonny is fighting to get his life back together and overcome his addiction with heroine and his bad reputation. The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
