Conventionalism - A rigid adherence to conventional, middle-class values 2. Authoritarian Submission - A submissive, uncritical attitude toward idealized moral authorities of the in-group 3. Authoritarian Aggression - A tendency to look out for, condemn, reject, and punish people who violate conventional values 4. Anti-Intraception - Opposition to the subjective, the imaginative, or the tender-minded 5. Superstition and Stereotyping - The belief in mystical determinants of an individual’s fate; the disposition to think in rigid categories 6. Power and ‘Toughness’ - A preoccupation with the dominance and submission; identification with power figures; exaggerated assertion of strength and toughness 7. Destructiveness and Cynicism - A generalized hostility, vilification of the human 8. Projectivity - A disposition to believe that wild and dangerous things go on in the world; the projection outwards of unconscious emotional impulses 9. Preoccupation with Sexual Goings-On - Exaggerated concern about sexual occurrences and practices First, prejudice is a generalized tendency among the authoritarian personality People who hate Jews also tend to hate blacks, homosexuals, immigrants, and other minorities Second, prejudice is linked to political and social conservative attitudes Opposing social welfare, blaming people for their own problems, and wanting to limit the role of government in lives Third, prejudice is related to a variety of (a) personal beliefs and (b) anti-introspection
