Downsizing CHAPTER 2 Internship Activities: My Learning: I got the opportunity to get internship in Askari Bank, Mall Road branch, Lahore. In the period of six weeks I really enjoyed a lot. Time flied so quickly, I really enjoyed and learned a lot. The staf f was very professional and highly experienced. They helped me to learn a lot in my training. Wit h their helpful attitude and guidance, I was able to grasp a lot. The guidance and kindness helped me a lot and infused a new spirit in me. There are Six departments at the branch in which I worked, which are as following: 1. Accounts department 2. Cash department 3. Remittance department 4. Clearing department 5. Agriculture department 6. Foreign department I worked dedicatedly in each of the following departments, I spent one week each in the departm ents to keenly and deeply observe and learn the specific activities performed. I spent my first week in the Account opening department as an introduction. Unit Head: Mam Aiza Tariq During my stay at this department I got to fill the forms of individuals who wanted to get t heir accounts opened at Bank Square,fill the cheque and deposit slips of customers who were not literate enough or needed instructions, and I also got theopportunity to give advice to the custom ers regarding the requirements of accountopening and the benefits of opening an account with Ba nk Askari. Working with the Accounts opening department gave me a lot of courage as it taught me the wa y that you should deal with the customers of the bank. Now coming towards the documentations, stuff requirement at this department for the accounts opening process. Types of Accounts: Current Account Saving Account Term Deposits Current Account: Current Deposit Account (CDA) CDAs can be opened by individuals (either singly or jointly), proprietorship concerns, partnership firms, public and private limited companies (including guarantee limited & single member companies) government organizations, corporations, clubs, societies, associations, NGOs/NPOs/charitable organizations etc. It can be opened in Pak rupees as well as in foreign currencies.
