must be prepared to solve conflicts that often arise since different people with varying personalities are working together. As a team leader to the other interns working in the HR department of Alliance Healthcare, I had to solve conflicts that often arose at the workplace. Most of the conflict between me and the team members was poor time keeping. To ensure there were no conflicts, the responsibilities and roles of each member were clearly stipulated. Each of the members had clear expectations of the other members so as to keep the clients happy at all times.To develop an operative team, a leader must establish an environment in which the team members can be comfortable in. The leader should encourage conflict resolution through healthy negotiation and professional confrontation. The leaders should be cheerleaders for thewhole team.AC 3.3: Effectiveness of the team in achieving the goalsThe essence of teamwork is achieving organizational goals. An effective team can achieve theset goals in time. In Alliance Healthcare, for the teams to be effective they had to realize the goals. Most of the goals that the team had were related to the delivery of healthcare products to various places in the UK. Most of the teams were able to their goals. The roles of each group were clearly stipulated; the work of the teams was to strategize on the best practices and ways to achieve the goals. The teams perform effectively when the relationship between all the members is good. Good relationships assist the team members to perform their processes effectively. Due to the impressive relationship in the teams, there was good communication at Alliance Healthcare. Therefore, monitoring the progress of the teams was easy as there was direct feedback from the clients served by Alliance Healthcare.
11AC 2.4: ways to motivate staff to achieve objectivesThere are different methods employed to motivate the employees. However, the management should motivate the employees reasonably so as to inspire and stimulate the team members. Maslow hierarchy of needsAccording to Maslow theory of motivation, different people are motivated differently, depending on their needs. In Alliance Healthcare, incentives and rewards are given to employees who reach the target set by the organization. This enhances the employees to be motivated in order to achieve organizational goals. In so doing the employee esteem will be safeguarded and will be more motivated to work harder.Giving more responsibility to the team members increases their motivation. This is because the employees will feel wanted and as part of the organization. Alliance Healthcare also sets targets for them and reward them appropriately with money and promotions is a good way of motivating employees. Training and developing the employees makes them more confident inthe workplace thus motivating them.
