Furthermore, I realized clearly that I should practice using a blood pressure monitor more. The patient had severe abdominal pain and fever, he was anxious and distressed. Learning: After the health assessment, I will try to improve two important skills. Firstly, I will improve the general survey. Gathering information carefully and comprehensively is important during the clinical practice, including surgery and family history. A comprehensive general survey could provide data about patients’ general status of health. Secondly, I will improve the skills of using measuring instrument of vital signs. Using these instruments correctly and smoothly is important for a nurse. The accurate data of vital signs could reflect patients’ physiological status and help healthcare professionals to judge and make treatment options (Crisp, 2017, p.136).
