over to Amy to see if she is okay and she smiles back to indicate that she is. When we are all finished we go our separate ways and Amy tells her friend she will see her on the trip home. I ask Amy if she enjoyed her lunch and we both agreed that the food was lovely We make our way out to the gardens to meet up with the tour guide. There are a lot of people waiting to take the tour and it soon gets under way. The gardens are very well laid out with good wide pathways and the surface

makes it easy to manoeuvre the chair. This is not a problem for Amy as her chair is powered but it would suit manual chairs just as well. It does no harm to note these things for future reference. The guide speaks loudly and clearly for everyone to hear but we seem to be rushing along. I look at Amy and she raises her eyebrows at me as if to say “what’s the hurry”. I ask her if she wants to let them go ahead and we can take our time. She agrees to this as she wants to get a proper look at everything. We make our way around the gardens avoiding the two areas marked on the map as having flights of steps. When we got to the rose garden we discovered this was not accessible. Amy was disappointed at this and we decided to go back inside. There are lifts in the visitors centre and the library allowing access to the upper floors so we had a look at these areas. As it was coming near time to get the bus home I checked with Amy if she would like to use the bathroom before heading of. She agreed this would be a good idea so we went and repeated the procedure from earlier. We then made our way out to the car park where the bus was parked. The driver got everyone one to the bus and I checked Amy was secure. It wasn't long until we were back at Amy’s home and the driver made sure she was safely of the bus. Safety and Health Procedures during the Task Evaluation. I asked Amy how she enjoyed her day. She said she really had a lovely day out .I asked her if she would go again and she said she would love to go again as it was a lovely day out. She thought it had been a great idea and liked the fact that she had been able to get information on the venue beforehand. It meant she could plan what she wanted to see in advance. Amy said if she was going to go again she would go during the week when it was not so busy. She felt it was great the way there was no admission so that made it a facility everyone could enjoy. Amy said if she was going again she would not bother with the tour as she felt it was to rushed and she would pre-fare to go around in her own time She noted that while the rose garden had not been accessible there were plans being made to correct this and she would like to return then. Amy said the map supplied on the way in was very helpful in indicating the areas that had steps and were not accessible. She said she thought the restaurant had been well laid out for the use of wheelchairs and that the staff had been very helpful. We both agreed the pathways had been good and wide with an even surface providing comfort for the wheelchair user. She thought that while it was good the glasshouses were
