I would bring on the physical therapists to share

This preview shows page 4 - 5 out of 7 pages.

I would bring on the physical therapists to share tips on exercise for people of all ages. I would have the pharmacist share tips on the importance of medication include every day over the counter or herbal products. Our clinical staff could engage in recommendations for diseases states such as identifying and lowering risk factors and signs and symptoms to be aware of and recommendations for annual screenings. We can focus on specific areas of disease prevention and treatment. Our teams currently provide information one on one to their patients on a variety of topics include diet; exercise and healthy living; disease state management. By participating in these types of educational, medical segments, we provide a service to the public and receive free advertising and increase our name recognition. The phase 1 media focus approach allows us to reach new and existing patients while providing vital accurate healthcare information. The next phase will be focused on expanding services. My goal is to target areas that we can expand without minimal to no additional cost. Our current emergency room is busy but not 24 hours a day and not every patient is having a true emergency. I would suggest we subdivide the emergency room and allocate 25% of the space to urgent care patients. These are patients that do not have a life-threatening condition and are less sick but still need to be seen. The existing triage process would identify patients that qualify for urgent care and route them appropriately. The same doctors that staff the Er would staff the urgent care side. The benefit to the patient is they would be able to be seen more quickly because the visit would require less testing and physician time (Uscher-Pines, Pines, Kellermann, Gillen, & Mehrotra, 2013). What allows our program to stand above the competition is that we would be available 24 hours a day and if a

patient came into the urgent care side but their condition deteriorate they could quickly move the Emergency Room side instead of having to be transported to another facility. As an employee, I benefit from using the wellness center. They provide preventative care such as vaccines or physicals and they also provide educational and consulting for the entire wellbeing. Any employee can sign up for free 30-minute brown bag lunchtime presentations on nutrition, fitness, or mental health topics. My recommendation is that we expand this service and invite the public, advertised on our social media sites. The hours of operation are 6am to 8pm, and we would monitor this to make sure it meets the patient needs. This would provide a way to bring potential patients into our building and share additional information on the services we offer. While some of the wellness programs would be free, there would be a cost to the patient for services such as immunizations or physicals. The patients that are seen in the wellness center may require referrals to other services. Referrals would provide revenue to fund other programs. Lastly, we could initiate some complimentary services such as valet parking especially beneficial to an elderly or handicap patient. I would recommend using our transporters because they have downtime waiting for patients and their time could be better utilized. I would also recommend reaching out to some local artists to display and sell their artwork in our hospital. The goal would be to provide support for local artists and increase their exposure and sales and keep our halls fresh with new art at no cost to the hospital.

As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
