The Carpathian Music Ensemble for the University of Pittsburgh had an extremely positive relationship with the audience they were performing for. What I mean by this is that the band encouraged the audience to dance and sing along with the music. An example of this is when the band was performing the popular Gypsy song that we coincidentally learned in lecture. The band instructed the audience to stand up and clap along with the beat while singing the appropriate word “chia” at the specific moment in the song where it is stated. As I looked around the room I could tell that many people enjoyed that the band was attempting to make a connection not only with the audience, but also have the audience feel more connected with the music they were performing as well. This then ultimately, in my opinion, allowed the audience to loosen up and become more comfortable with the other people attending the concert, and not to feel so self-conscious about singing or dancing along with the music that was being played. The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
