reproductive success Spandrel: looks like adaptation but it’s actually a by-product of evolution of something else how to determine if its spandrel or adaptation? go back and look at the phylogeny of something that is evolved (historic order) Clades Many things that we think are not human adaptations are not Many systems also get co-opted from other systems and put to new ones Faculty of language: all of the things that evolved to help language No single adaption gave us language So much has evolved in language

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
