Personal Script - Putting an end to internet abuse at work Intro: The company has noticed that several employees have been improperly communicating and utilizing internet channels both internally and externally. Although many of these transgressions have occurred outside of the company’s intranet, the comments and such nonetheless represent the company due to the employment of the person(s) involved. As such, the company is understandably concerned about the ongoing issues and will take further actions as needed to remedy the situation, no matter how seemingly big. The company cannot afford to tolerate this sort of issue, especially in today’s high stakes business world where the internet is a valuable tool that must be leveraged successfully for it to be properly utilized to the best ability of the company. 1. Defiance Statement: “The company has no right to monitor outside posts and communications on the internet. And besides, I haven’t actually broken any laws or physically harmed anyone” Response: “Well, there actually are laws in place that help regulate the internet and crimes related to cyber abuse. Additionally, because you are an employee of the company and put such on all of your accounts on the internet, it is in our best interest and within our rights as an entity to monitor activities that act contrary to our best interests. Thus, your actions must cease immediately, else we pursue further consequences.” 2. Non-Admittance Statement: “It wasn’t me. You can’t prove that it was me.” Response: “We can prove that it was you based off of the login information and
