be a safer place for faculty to work and for students to learn. The lives of current students and future students would be ensured, allowing everyone to get the chance to graduate, work, and develop a family. Imagine a place where parents do not have to worry about sending their children off to school, a place where students are not concerned about their safety when learning. Opposition & Refute The main argument that would be made against the policy is that it violates the second amendment, the right to bear arms. However, this claim can be refuted by fact that the bill was created centuries ago, and the current situation with gun violence and school shootings could not have been taken into account, and therefore it is not applicable to today’s times. Similar to how other policies, such as same-sex marriage, have been changed to accommodate the change in society, adjusting the policies involving firearms is a reasonable solution to decrease gun violence.
