be a safer place for faculty to work and forstudents to learn. The lives of currentstudents and future students would beensured, allowing everyone to get thechance to graduate, work, and develop afamily.Imagine a place where parents do not haveto worry about sending their children off toschool, a place where students are notconcerned about their safety when learning. Opposition & RefuteThe main argument that would bemade against the policy is that it violates thesecond amendment, the right to bear arms. However, this claim can be refuted by factthat the bill was created centuries ago, andthe current situation with gun violence andschool shootings could not have been takeninto account, and therefore it is notapplicable to today’s times. Similar to howother policies, such as same-sex marriage, have been changed to accommodate thechange in society, adjusting the policiesinvolving firearms is a reasonable solutionto decrease gun violence.Contact InformationChristina Pham
