A product that fails to satisfy physical constraints This coffee pot limits the ability of the user to serve coffee properly. It has a bad design, the handler should be at the opposite side of the holder. This mistake will make the user burns his hand as soon as he tries to serve the coffee. This product fails to satisfy physical constraints. A product that fails to satisfy cognitive constraints This traffic sign design fails to satisfy cognitive constraints in so many ways. This sign was placed on the left side of the road, and also it says “ Right Lane must Right Left” which does not make any sense and could cause confusion and accidents while driving. The only purpose of this sign is to distract the user, in this case the driver.

3. Give an example of two different products, made for the same purpose. If you had to make a choice between purchasing one of the two products, what specific aspects of the product design would influence your decision? Explain At the top of the picture, we have a dull knife with a hard handle, which usually requires more force to handle and it slips more easily from our intended target. It has a gap between the palm and the top of the knife unless you grip it very tightly. With the knife below the picture, the bolster is angled and extends over the spine, this provides a better curved supporting surface for the index finger, instead of resting on the sharp edge of the knife above. The handle is also held with a more open and loose fist. It reduces effort and betters the comfort, so I would choose the second knife in the picture.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
