Housing, Transportation, and Food 10. The HALT principle means you should not make a major purchase if you are Hungry, Angry, Lonely, or Tired . Reflection I believe that this was a really good project in many ways. Budgeting is something that everyone in the entire world (counting me) will have to when we are adults, so all of the information I learned will be of use sometime in the near future. Because I am only 18, I do not know everything when it comes to budgeting, so this project helped open my eyes and answer many questions that I had. Budgeting is a really hard thing to do, and as it said in the 15 min video we had to watch, the best way to budget is to just make sure that you spend less then what you make. As easy as it sounds, I know that it budgeting is much more difficult, but if you are just smart with your money and keep track of what you spend/make, you really shouldn’t be too worried. I have already started to budget with college, but I know that it will be 100x tougher when I have a wife and family. Overall, this project was very useful and helped to introduce to me the process of keeping a strong and safe budget.
