access servers will be acting as routers, and the network administrator will easily configure the packet filters to allow only the desired traffic to enter or leave the network perimeter. Windows Firewall with Advanced security will also be installed allowing the administrator to manage all the windows firewall using IPsec hence preventing any attacks within the network. The purpose of the firewall will be to inspect both IPv4 and IPv6 that enters and leaves the network end devices. The purpose of configuring packet tracing is to ensure that the packets arrive at the desired destination as send. The administrator will be able to enable packet tracing at the dashboard of the Remote Access Management Console. Since ELearning serves both North America and Europe, implementing DirectAccess entry points will be vital. The purpose of DirectAccess entry points is to allow users connect from their web browsers and access resources within the organization from anywhere in the world. The users will only be required to connect to the nearest DirectAccess server. In case the nearest server is not available; the client’s failover will automatically connect the user to the next nearest available entry point.

Running Head: ELearning Windows Server Infrastructure Redesign and Upgrade The Multisite Remote Access can easily be configured by clicking on the enable multisite link from the task pane. The administrator will then be required to add all the desired entry points. Load balancing is also necessary if the organization desires to have continued high availability of the remote access connection. The DirectAccess option is usually configured through the Remote Access Management Console. The figure below illustrates the concept o tunneling and Direct Access. Active Directory Topology

Running Head: ELearning Windows Server Infrastructure Redesign and Upgrade The single site active directory configuration will be used in the upgrade of the ELearning network. The configuration assumes that all the domain controllers are well connected. One of the significant benefits of this configuration is that it is easy to set up and cost-effective when it comes to utilization of resources. In the single site configuration, all the domain controllers will be replicated. Each one of the four branches will have a fault tolerance mechanism which will require the deployment of at least two domain controllers. To increase the overall performance of the network, all the domain controllers will be placed near the resources that need to use them. At the same time, all users logging on to the ELearning network will need to be authenticated with a domain controller. All the sites will be connected via site links whose primary purpose will be to provide the inter-site connectivity for replication. This will be accomplished through Knowledge Consistency Checkers that generate and maintain the entire replication topology (Microsoft, 2016). To prevent the problem of slow links between the sites, domain controllers, and users, group policies will be deployed.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
