This is another example of Jerry not displaying any ethical care. Although, at this point in the movie Jerry still believes the kidnapping is fake, there should be some concern and some care from Jerry towards wife. She is with total strangers and there is a lot of money involved and your wife should be the person you care about most in life. Jerry also displayed no ethical care towards his father-in-law. First, Jerry lied to him when he told his father-in-law that his daughter had been kidnapped. This would trouble any father and Jerry showed no concern over the matter and once again only cared for himself. Another example of Jerry’s lack of care lack of care for his father-in-law is when he allowed him to take the ransom money. Jerry knew that Carl and Gaear were expecting only Jerry to drop of the money. Jerry also knew that when Carl and Gaear were faced with any type of adversity they would do anything to not get caught. This includes murder, and Jerry was aware of it. Noddings could also make the argument that because of Jerry’s lack of both natural care and ethical care he is the cause of all seven deaths in the movie. Because Jerry set up the

kidnapping he was responsible for causing the three deaths on the road and eventually all the other murders in the film. He never showed any concern Carl told him blood has been shed. It was always about himself and lack of care from those around him and those in his “inner circle” made him the worst character in the film according to Noddings. I feel care ethics is correct here by saying Jerry is the worst person in this movie from an ethical standpoint. First, I feel Gaear is a bit unstable and abnormal; therefore he would not be able to possess a good will accurately. His duty to be ethical is somewhat skewed due too what seems to be an imbalance within himself. Also, Jerry displays the least ethical behavior throughout the movie, from start to finish. He got himself in to the predicament at the beginning of the film and solely used others to try to get him out of it. He displayed zero care for anyone and this is troubling because the people he cared about the least are the people he should care about the most. He is eventually the reason multiple innocent people died and still failed to show any type of care towards these people or try to save any of the ones that were still living. This makes Jerry the worst man in Fargo .
