Healthcare safety statistics is used to prevent harm to patients by noting the processes and to eliminate malpractice. Data collection should include financial and operational component of safety analytics. The data collected measured several outliners to includes whether or not the accident was predictable or preventablesuch as hospital-acquired infections, falls at the healthcare facility, wrong diagnosis or wrong treatment/medication, “the failure of the health care system to systematically measure patient safety is the fundamental reason why it seems to have made little progress on this important priority” (urg, 2012). Safety statistical data assess any injury that causes prolonged hospitalization or readmission, affects the patients quality of life, delay treatment in some circumstances may cause death but that is the purpose of collecting general and specific information about safety to prevent casualties and loss of finances.
