13) A 100MW AC Generator produces 12kV. This is sent through 1,000MCM wire to a transformer that is 100m away. The ratio of turns on the transformer is 1:40. After this the current is sent 2,000km through a 500MCM wire where it reaches a substation where the voltage is stepped down in a transformer to 240V. From here the current is sent to homes that each require 200A. Assume no power lost during this last step. How many homes can be powered? How much power is lost during transfer from power station to your house?
