the concerts and the point of moshing is not to hurt anyone. The survey conducted by a student presents that 80% of the survey participants thought mosh pits should be allowed at concerts. All of the people involved in moshing are aware of the consequences of the participating. I would like to restate that fact that people should be able to do what they want to. We have our own enjoyments; the rock concert goers enjoy the feeling from the mosh pit. So, we should not be taking away their only enjoyment from them. Banning Mosh Pits Moshing should be banned everywhere because it is a violent act and many can injure from it. The act can also get out of control and become more violent. Although it is an

amusement for mosh pitters, the statistics show that “twenty-four concert deaths were recorded in 2001”. Concerts should be a place to enjoy music, not a place to increase death tolls. I, as well as everyone who opposes moshing, believe that they are “dangerous and stupid” therefore they should be “outlawed”. There are many evidences to why mosh pits should be banned. One of the main reasons is they can hurt others even the ones that are not in the pit. A teenage girl suffered brain damage and memory loss while she was pulled into the moshing. According to a 2008 ABC news special, it is estimated “that 10,000 people have been injured in and around mosh pit in the last decade”. Moshing can cause disturbances to other concert goers. It is a fact that most injuries incurred from mosh pits aren’t actually by the moshers but by innocent bystanders. People may argue that it is their right and freedom to do what they want. I agree with that statement nonetheless if something they want to do affect others, we must understand that it is not only up to them to decide. For that reason, we should ban mosh pits in order for others to enjoy the show and not create disturbances and definitely not to injure others.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
