Event suggestions We will plan for three main events for face-to-face marketing, or personal selling. These events include: August new-student orientation For students who have already registered for fall courses, the orientation can be used to introduce students to LAMS so that they might consider enrolling in LAMS courses for the spring or summer semesters. New students choose to attend one of four days of 6-hour events on the front lawn of Langara College. Each new student is given a Langara College tote bag in which a LAMS keychain or pen can be dropped inside. We will also have a display booth at which more keychains and pens are available, in addition to postcards that interested students can take away for more information. We will also display oversized LAMS posters inside the booth, and man the booth with 1–2 knowledgeable and enthusiastic SWAP students (a third SWAP student can help run the other orientation games and activities while representing LAMS). October A-Building program fair Like for the orientation, the program fair can be used to introduce students to LAMS so that they might consider enrolling in LAMS courses for the spring or summer semesters. LAMS faculty will set-up a booth in the A-Building lobby on the designated program fair day and man the booth for the full duration of the fair. We will have keychains, pens and postcards available for interested students to take away. Oversized LAMS posters will decorate the booth. We will also ask LAMS faculty to showcase a portfolio of past LAMS student work, along with showing video of LAMS student activities and classroom debates. Autumn high school college fair LAMS staff will travel to local area high school college fairs and set up a booth, creating awareness of LAMS at Langara.
