At South Padre Island, Texas which is about an hour and a half away from where I live, they will be getting their own micro hospital. The hospital is expected to be equipped with a one level floor plan and have the appropriate physicians needed to staff the facility in order to serve thecommunity. It is the communities hope that the hospital will bring long term residents and help promote a healthier lifestyle for the current residents (Hernandez, 2020).
The two articles are of great importance to me because mental health is an area of healthcare I feel is often overlooked and cast aside. At some point I feel as though we are all affected by some sort of mental health issue and it is important, especially during this pandemic, to remember those that are currently suffering from mental health issues. There is a large number of the population that require medications, therapies, and counseling in order to cope who have found it difficult to remain healthy during this time. The quarantine provides a negative and isolated frame ofmind for them and could potentially trigger those with aggressive mental health issues due to the paranoia of COVID. The second article is a brighter note as South Padre Island will have more immediate access to healthcare. While the island is starting off with a micro hospital, I can see the potential for growth as the island is a hot spot for vacation, and springbreak. During these times, there are many accidents and vacationers that may require immediate medical attention. With a hospital much closer, it allows faster healthcare and brings awareness to the island in a positive light. ReferencesWilson, M. (2020, July 1). One Issue that was widely talked about was the major construction that was happening near residencies. According to the Houston Public Media, residents near the Highland Park Community Center in Northwest Houston, were complaining about a construction that

According to health officials, nearby residents were six times more likely to get asthma because of this (Harab, 2020)The second issue found in Texas is the lack of health insurance. With the Coronavirus outbreak this affected Texas more than ever. According to theTexas Tribune, Texas had the highest uninsured rate of any state before the outbreak.
