Personal Information Security: Always hardware vulnerable Guard against malware Protect your system Protect your network Ways to mitigate identity theft: If people intentionally harden their individual security, they can make it more difficult for criminals to steal information assets. 1 st step - The first step is understanding which assets are irreplaceable and how they are vulnerable. 2 nd step – Understanding methods criminals use to gain information and protect that data from being stolen. Such methods are social engineering, enticement, and/or emotional manipulation 3 rd step – Protecting access to information through personal security policy that restricts personal identifiable information(PII) such as how and when to use debit or credit cards, SSN, DOB, ordering credit reports regularly, being observant, use secure form of payment, use difficult password authentication methods. 4 th step – In the event personal information is stolen, legal counsel may be needed and stolen information should be reported.

However, society, culture created differing of opinions. Ethical principles and frameworks, which have become the models on which moral issues are tested and that are used as a basis for decision making Responsibilities – perceived, moral or legal duties uses for a specific or general task Accountability – is the obligation of accepting responsibility Liability – the legal state of being responsible. Generalize Ethical Issues Accessibility issues: Issues created by barriers to access, implying that some should have access while others should not. Accuracy issues: Issues created by the trustworthiness, accuracy, and legitimacy of information. Privacy issues: Issues created by the collection, storage, distribution, or mere availability of potentially sensitive information. Property issues: Issues created by the association of rights of property ownership to tangible and intangible goods and information Trends that will require re-evaluation and creation of moral values, social norms, and political position: Moore’s law – co-found of Intel Gordon Moore in 1965 stated computer capacity and power will double every 2 years.
