Medicaid is mainly in place to assist in medical coverage for low income families, pregnant women, seniors and those with disabilities. A big controversy in today’s society is the abuse of those utilizing the Medicaid/ welfare system. Many people who are eligible for Medicaid are not yet enrolled in the system. I feel those who are not yet in the Medicaid system such as seniors, children, and those with disabilities could benefit from those services immensely. The process by which eligibility in each individual state makes it difficult for those who need the services to receive the services
