The minutes reiterated what was discussed, documented open questions and listed action itemsfor each team member. Having this in writing set clear expectations and held each memberaccountable for their responsibility.Google Docs was an excellent platform for collaboration as we were able to work on theassignment simultaneously. One team member was unable to join the Skype meeting onSunday so she utilized our Google Doc to write up notes beforehand. This was instrumental inleading the conversation and delegating work throughout the meeting. Another advantage wasthe ability to complete our assignment in piecemeal. Without Google Docs this would havebeen extremely difficult. We would have had to continuously email a document back and forthwith updates which, as we learned from Junk Van, often results in handling errors and missedinformation. The history section was also helpful in identifying which team member or sectionwas added or modified. Our team’s success with this assignment can be attributed to upfront and honest conversationregarding our commitments and availability for calls/check-ins. All team members did anoutstanding job communicating the completion of their part to the rest of the team. Goingforward we need to continue having open, honest communication. It may be in our best interestto facilitate debrief sessions after each assignment so we can discuss what went well, whatneeds improvement and provide feedback. Keeping the team engaged and motivated will playa major role in our continued success.
