doing. Those are certainly important. However, you made a choice to go to school because you wanted a better future for yourself and consequently need to carve out sufficient time to be successful. Maybe that means cutting back your hours at work, giving up TV, or using your weekends for school work. Frequently students get into trouble because they only make a small time investment. But later, usually around the first exam, the material gets more challenging and they fall behind. It is often difficult to recover and many end up dropping the course, or getting a poor grade. Here is a suggested weekly schedule for this semester. Feel free to adjust it to your own needs: Reading study guides before class (40 min) Relax and focus before class (20 min) Class time (4 hours) Reading text, reviewing notes, assignment instructions and study guide after class (1 hour) Working on assignments (3 hours)

Remember, this class will be challenging, but it is worth the effort for your future. If you have made it this far in your education with minimal out-of-class effort, congratulations. But, the classes you take this year and next year will be more challenging than last year! To continue being successful it is important to acquire new habits that allow you to succeed. Usually this comes down to a question of commitment –I encourage you to make the investment into this class in terms of time because you are worth it!
