practice without it because they did not get a proper screening. I have heard before that if a doctor gets  his or her license taken away they can move out of state to start their own practice or work in another  hospital and they will never know because the system is so messed up and there is no one place to get  informed and updated information on physicians. This is really scary that they do not have a system set  up that they all use to keep each other informed or to even keep the community informed. The book also  points out that in order for a person to have privileges to the medical staff they need to ensure they  follow and meet the national standards. In order to keep our hospitals, staff, and patients safe they need  to start by ensuring the physicians are checked out and ensure they have a good background and work  history.  Pozgar, George D.  Legal Aspects of Health Care Administration.  Jones and Bartlett Learning, 2012. 2.
