How does the quality of the U.S. healthcare system compare to other countries?. Retrieved from - system-compare-countries/#item-start You mentioned the costs of the US health care system being unsustainable for a few different reasons, but one reason was because there is pressure being put on the economy which is making it less effective. No health care system should be under pressure for economical purposes. It’s main goal should be that is puts it’s patients first regardless of economic issues. It’s baffling to think that the US health care system underperforms compared to other relative countries but has a more expensive budget. In an article written in 2014, a report of 11 different countries’ health care systems was studied, and the US ranked the last on the list (Davis et. al, 2014). One notable difference that I believe the US should investigate is introducing a universal health care system that many other countries already have set in place. This would provide quality medical services to all citizens regardless of their ability to pay (Amadeo, 2018). I believe that some people may argue against this because of the how funding will occur. Unfortunately, the US is already paying subsidies through Obamacare and other federal funded groups and the efficiency is non-existent. So, why not try a universal program and take the funding that is already being paid out but yet invest it into a new program like other countries are doing and make health care better for everyone. The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
