CHILD DEVELOPMENT 3 is fresh in the morning and as the day progresses, it tires up. Additionally, the level of classroom concentration for learners significantly decreases after lunch. However, a day’s learning cannot be undertaken continuously from morning to evening without a break. Therefore, the children must also be allowed to go for a mid-day learning break in between the day’s session, in order to rest their brains for additional studies. During this time, they can also play or be led through Physical Education or P.E. There is an increasing diversity in most schools across the country today and because of this, it is important to integrate different families and cultures in teaching in order to bring cohesiveness among the children from different backgrounds. The attitudes of children and their approaches toward learning can be affected by different languages and heritages. This is why different strategies are adopted in most schools today, aimed at reaching all students coming from different ethnic backgrounds. The significance of the different cultures is also validated in the classroom to ensure that every student is comfortable and does not feel isolated. This is achieved through undertaking the following: First, as the children enter the classroom, the teacher acknowledges every child by name while welcoming them, to show that they are all valued regardless of their ethnicity. The teacher also makes direct eye contact with every child as he or she teaches. This is aimed at showing respect towards everyone. Thirdly, expectations for learning and behavior is set, and equally enforced
