•There are no makeups for makeupsfor ANY reason. Once a makeup exam is scheduled, you are committed. In short, a makeup exam is not a given but a privilege extended on rare occasions for students who have unforeseen and exceptional reasons for not taking the exam at the required time. REVIEWING EXAMS & ASSIGNMENTS•You may review Midterm exams and assignments with me within 21 days after marks have been posted. •Requests for grade change must be made within this 21-day period. •If you wish to contest a grade, I will remark your entireexam or assignment (so as to ensure marking consistency) at my convenience and not in front of the student. •Grade reconsideration may raise the grade, lower the grade or leave the grade unchanged. The only reason a grade change will be made is if there is an arithmetic error or if it has been determined that the exam deserves a lower or higher grade. Reasons not related to performance will not be considered. For example: oThe student is on probation. oThe student wants to get into another program that requires a certain GPA. oThe student worked hard and thinks that should be a factor. oThe student doesn't like the grade scale. oThe student's score is X% below the next grade and would like the instructor to ignore the difference. oThe student needs to graduate. oThe student needs to maintain a particular GPA to maintain a scholarship or keep a student visa. •If you have a question about your Final Letter grade, email me immediately after the grades are posted, as grade change requests must be submitted within the first week of the next semester. CLASS CANCELLATIONIf a class is cancelled for any reason, I will send an email through your Langara email accounts. Information regarding class cancellations will be posted on the college website. Notices will not be posted outside classroom doors.
