The zip code of 77378 called Willis, Texas, is a quiet quant little town that sits 49 miles north of downtown Houston, Texas. This area was chosen and assessed to complete the assigned Windshield Survey. The area around the town appeared to be run down with little to no new structures. All of the structures appeared to be pre-existing and looked to date back to the 70’s and 80’s. The only newer structures were the added fast food restaurants and the addition of a small shopping center off the freeway of IH 45. While the existing buildings appear to be old, they seem to be clean and well kept. The town seemed to be safe and has low crime risk, which is of utmost importance. There are a few small dining restaurants, drive-through restaurants, small shopping strip centers, and parks. While there are no major places of entertainment within town, there is plenty of entertainment or hangout places just minutes down the road into the neighboring town of Conroe, Texas. There are a significant number of elderly residents living alone in the community according to Mr. B.K., a local fireman in zip code 77378.
