Discussion The undertaken studies/research in the article had one objective and that was to understand and explain the end users behavioral intentions in case of adoption of automated home service. The study we undertook has been able to capture the characteristics of a smart home service and able to present a comparison of all the types of home automation services which can be used in a smart home model. Various implications were demonstrated by implementing the analysis in the study. In the study we concentrated mainly on three factors which are the most important factors of automation of homes and home appliances and those factors are “Controllability”, “Interconnection between devices” and “Reliability””. These three factors have a heavy impact on the customers’ acceptance behavior while implementing the smart homes. People generally find comfort and safety in conventional practices due to which the remote technology had a slow pace in its inception stages. People want a simple remote management system rather than a highly advanced automated management service. The desire of the people is to want devices of the home to be under their full control rather than a complicated system because home represents a personal space, which the people want to keep as simple as it could be. Controllability is the most prominent feature that the end users want to adopt as in the end people want an intelligent device which represents total control. The study also has various finding in the group analysis. The factors such as controllability and interconnectivity between various devices has a significant effect on adoption patterns for people living in different type of houses, for example the apartment living the standards are different and for those having independent houses the standards for adopting are completely different. When we compare the gender trends men mainly have emphasis on the interconnectivity and women mainly emphasis on reliability as they are not much tech savvy. We obtained similar results in older group of people. This in fact can be due to the non-risk taking capacity of the older people. Older people want stability if we compare them to the younger generation. Younger generation prefer and buy things that are interesting, innovative in nature and are interconnected. The people who have in past experienced a similar service or have used such a service also emphasize on the use of automation. They are likely to buy interconnected devices more and make their homes smarter. The article captures the essence of the word “smart” and “automated” in home appliance services. According to the results the people desire a product that can be controlled easily and it doesn’t matter to them whether the home is fully automated or not. This is a concrete evidence why in past home automation and networking in home have failed to spread. In the past the home automation services have not reached the desired level.
