electronic exchange of patient information [ CITATION Nel18 \l 1033 ]. In order for providers and hospitals to qualify for financial incentives they must use the certified electronic health record technology in a meaningful manner that can be measured through the (MU) metrics [ CITATION Nel18 \l 1033 ]. Using a certified EHR ensures that EHRs have the ability of achieving the goals of meaningful use. A complete EHR certification means that the system has the functionality, required data elements, and logic to support ambulatory, emergency room, outpatient, and inpatient MU requirements [ CITATION Nel18 \l 1033 ].

TITLE OF PAPER 3 As a registered nurse I know that there are specific data that require frequent documentation and some documentation is even time sensitive to how long the patient has been admitted to the hospital. For example, if a patient is admitted to the hospital the admitting nurse must document the patient’s current medication list and note any drug allergies. This is an effort to assist the physician with ordering appropriate medications using the computerized provider order entry, a measurable metric of meaningful use of the certified EHR. This requirement improves time efficiency, quality of care, and patient safety. Other objectives of meaningful use include: engaging patients and families, improve care coordination, improve population/public health, and ensure privacy/security of personal health information [ CITATION Nel18 \l 1033 ].

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
