It is defined as any pain continuing beyond the usual course of an acute injury process (Bhandari & Jaswal, 2012). Most pains beyond six months are considered chronic. It is among the most common causes of chronic disability in the general population. A lot of the elderly population experiences pain due to the bones getting weaker and brittle. A lot of sports player suffers chronic pain due to the preexisting bone condition or after surgeries. Chronic pain is estimated to be the third largest healthcare problem in the world, afflicting around 30% of the worldwide population. With chronic pain, it may feel better at some times than other, but it never goes away completely. Chronic pain is a common symptom described by patients with Multiple Sclerosis (MS) (Sullivan & Domingo, 2017). It is common for patients with MS to experience more than one type of pain. Ibuprofen or other NSAIDs does not work well on patients with MS. References Bhandari, M., & Jaswal, D. (2012). Decision Making in Medicine-An Algorithmic Approach.
