BSBDIV601 Develop and implement diversity policyDETERMINE RELATIONSHIPS AND LINKS WITH OTHER RELATEDPOLICIESIn order to be able to successfully implement the Diversity Policy into the organisation, it is essential to determine the relationships and links that occur with other related policies to ensure that there are no conflicts with other policies. The Diversity Policy may also be implemented across other sections of the organisation and, therefore, may impact on other policies in the workplace. In order for these conflicts and correlations to be able to be managed so that the Diversity Policy may be successfully implemented in the organisation it isimportant that all links and relationships with other policies are determined, recorded and taken into consideration prior to the implementation of the Policy. Policy procedure maps are a great tool for assessing how policies across the organisation interact with each other. A detailed map of the diversity policy and all pf its phases should be written so that any links or relationships with other policies already implemented within the organisation can be analysed. Links and relationships with other policies will need to be analysed to check if:The relationships with other policies are complementaryThe relationships and links do not negatively impact on either policyThere is any contradiction caused by policy overlapThere is extra paperwork or doubling up required due to policy overlapTo ensure all procedures related to both policies are clear and reasonable in regardsto any overlap.Any changes need to be made to both policiesThe relationships or links do not negatively impact on each otherWhen there is a policy relationship or link that is causing negative impacts or policy deviations for one or both of the policies, then one or both of them will need to be altered. When deciding on if policies are related it is important to consider if the objectives of one policy are dependent on the other or if the policy intentions are influenced by another policy. If this is the case, then the policies do have a close relationship and must be managed carefully.Strategic checking of all aspects of policy interaction within the organisation is extremely important in ensuring the integrity and effectiveness of each new policy that is implemented within an organisation.Version 1.1Page 29 of 64October 2016Document # - RTO # 31698CRICOS # 03000J
