Occasionally there is marketing and other nonbillable work, but generally I am pleased with the quality of my work.” • “No one is above occasional drudgework. In my experience, that’s a positive attribute at a big firm, whereby a good example is set for juniors. For the most part, however, almost all of my time is spent working on high-level assignments or on things that are going to the client.” Training & Mentoring • “I learned some useful things at training but ultimately you really learn with practice. In terms of mentoring, I find that there is a lot of good formal and informal mentoring. Schulte has programs to help facilitate formal mentoring such as coffee cards and dinner budgets. However, I find that the informal mentoring is good too. Praise is common and criticism has been largely been put in a positive light, even when it is unsolicited. I find the other associates especially care that I do well.” • “The firm does a decent job of providing training for new associates, but there is a precipitous fall off once you get past your first year at the firm.” • “There are numerous in-house trainings and CLEs throughout the year that make it easy to stay current with CLE
