month. It would be unconventional for a business to send an invoice out for every single transaction unless they are expected to be repaid immediately. When using batch processing, there are a number of factors that work to its advantage; main factor being the lower expense. Because the processes are run at a lower frequency, batch processing becomes cheaper. Batch processing is also seen as a fixed cost to businesses. The more batches that are processed within a certain amount of time would mean the overall cost for each process becomes lower (MUSE, 2010). Finally, batch patch processing gives the business the advantage of controlling the

Along with these benefits that come batch processing, there are many disadvantages to it. One example is the loss of transactions within a larger batch that is to be processed. If the batch has too much information stored in it, an error could be difficult to find and fix. Consider a company that processes its accounts receivable once a month. If the company processes a large amount all at once, it could lead to errors with some of the invoices going out. A solution to this would to divide the batch processing into two or even three separate processes. This would allow the business to search for errors quickly. Another disadvantage would be the limited processes. Batch processes may be programmed to function at certain times, so if there is a transaction that must be processed right away, it would be difficult (Bergert, 2008). Overall, batch processing is best used in situations that require a cluster of data to go out at once. Invoice batching is a great

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
