RE: network layer and IP Gust Dimoulias 11/13/2016 4:51:36 PM I agree with just about everything you said Khalid except for one thing. Every LAN regardless of size requires layer 3 routing. I say this because if that LAN goes out to the internet or has to send an email outside of its internal network then it will have to route outside. RE: network layer and IP Eroshan Jayaweera 11/13/2016 8:39:53 PM Also when VLANs are in place. RE: network layer and IP Professor Bhatia 11/14/2016 1:38:01 PM Class, Chapter 5 introduces us to quality of service routing. Why do we use this? QoS routing is especially use for VoIP traffic. RE: network layer and IP Eroshan Jayaweera 11/14/2016 7:20:12 PM We use QoS in order to prioritize certain packets from regular ones. Mainly uses in VoIP, videoconferencing etc as the packets need to be delivered one time as these communications are time dependent. RE: network layer and IP Karthik Babu Manam 11/15/2016 7:32:16 AM QoS routing is used in networking for controlling the traffic on network on priority basis. It is a connection oriented service where the resources are assigned for each systems based on their priority. Uses of QoS routing:

For example when calling from internet requires more packet transmission when compared to live chatting for smooth and continuous communication. RE: network layer and IP Joyston Sylvester 11/23/2016 12:01:14 AM QoS Quality of Service. It is designed for the movement of the flag traffic, which pay special attention. VoIP for example a low latency and at the top of the queue. The problem is that everyone can show his movement just neatly handled, even if you downloaded in abstract, he had no special wishes. So the internet almost does not follow anyone's flag, so it does not matter. Network layer Leslie Williams 11/11/2016 10:53:01 PM In the network layer encapsulates the TCP packets, then it uses the IP PDU standard to choose which route is best. This packet contains the TCP segmet as well as the HTTP packet. Network and Transport Layer Manthan Dineshchandra Chauhan 11/12/2016 8:02:11 AM Internet Protocol (IP) is the principal set (or communications protocol) of digital message formats and rules for exchanging messages between computers across a single network or a series of interconnected networks, using the Internet Protocol Suite (often referred to as TCP/IP).
