Market research and customer service have been also considered as advantages, because companies can use social media to communicate with customers by having a team of certified professionals answering the frequently asked questions by customers. While the disadvantages are negative feedback, lack of security, privacy issues, and uncertainty. 3) A business decision by Lowe’s that was facilitated by using social media to interact with customers is their use of, “Facebook mobile video and Snapchat image messaging to help first- time millennial home buyers learn home improvement skills” (396). This is a good way for the company to interact with young customers that are spending their time on visual- driven social media platforms. The company’s social media activities have helped increase their brand engagement and has a significant impact on young minds.
