The company communicates with employees via email for head office employees,
and a printed monthly newsletter for drivers. The company provides information
regarding policies and procedures through employee manuals that are kept in each
truck. Office-based staff can access copies of these manuals in the office. This
means there are the communication between company and employee through hard
copy policy and procedure in order to make the same direction to everyone. There
are two main internal stakeholders require information are office employee and
drivers. The measurement that company are following is happiness in workplace. The
drivers feel uncomfortable when GPS is installed as the company does not trust on
them. As a result, the company makes a change to the circumstance with two people
in a truck. This is the way that drivers are currently happy with the work environment,
as they enjoy working as part of a two-man team. For example, they could help each
other to unload the things. In term of the office employee. They are communicated
with “work very closely together as a coherent and motivated team”. As a result, they
are generally positive about the organizational direction and respond well to change.
However, the company still has to solve the going on issue “In the past, supervisors
and HR have tried to encourage drivers to participate in organizational activities, but
this was not received well –the drivers complained and asked not to be involved. The
drivers’ view is that their team is the two-man driver team, and they seem to like the
comforts of that working environment.
