macrophages and dendrite cells. HIV infection leads to low levels of CD4+ Tcells through a number of mechanisms, including pyroptosis to drive away infected Tcells. The uninfected bystander cells, the direct viral killing of infected cells. (For example CD4+ Tcells) resulting in the numbers declining below a critical level.
