Herbert Marcuse - according to him, humanity has dominated nature. There can only be change if we also change our attitude toward our perception of the environment. George Mead - he said that as human beings, we do not only have rights but duties. In other words, rights contain in them duties. We are not only citizens of the community but how we react to this community changes it. Caring for the Environment Contributes to Health, Well-being, and sustainable Development Aside from ecocentric model, climate change triggered different views regarding environmental theories that show care for the environment, namely, deep ecology, social ecology, and ecofeminism. A. Deep Ecology In this theory, ecological crisis is an outcome of anthropocentrism. The controlling attitude of humankind is extended to nature when in fact, humanity I part of nature. Deep ecologists encourage humanity to shift from anthropocentrism to ecocentrism. B. Social Ecology This theory emphasizes that ecological crisis results from authoritarian social structures.
