infection. Crohn's disease could also be treated with treatments that stop the immune system from instigating irritation. Immuno-modulators change the way the immune system performs. Immuno-suppressants decline the movement of the immune system. Immuno-stimulators increase the movement. I am doing a case study on 14- year old Pierre which lives in Chicago, IL with three sisters and his mother. Pierre was referred to our clinic for periodic complaints of peri-umbilical stomach discomfort. Regardless of the greatness of his pain, he has not lost any days from school. He has lost 10 lbs. within the past 7 weeks, which was attributed to his dynamic physical activity preparing for track meet. Additional history exposed an increase in stool output over the past 5 weeks, with sporadic, un-blooded diarrhea up to 5 times a day. He does not wake up throughout the night time for bowel movements; neither did he experience a temperature or other universal extra-intestinal grievances. Pierre fell inside the 10% height range and 5% weight range for his age. There was slight peri-umbilical inflammation; no perianal abrasions; the extremities displayed no clubbing; and his genitalia were in Tanner Stage 2. Lab tests exposed microcytic anemia, mild hypo- albuminuria, and a C-reactive protein level of 11 mg/dL. Stool cultures and celiac serology were negative, and his fecal calprotectin concentration was 900 mcg/g.

As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
