Finally, Abdul Olwit develops an interest of participating in politics, not because, he intended, but to frustrate and disappoint, Adoli Awali with his secret plans. This makes the turning point of this story to beunpredictable and this sets a dramatic maybe a tragic end to the novel. The politics lead cohesive rallies and campaigns that later on lead to abusive human rights as some characters are hurt to the extent of nearly dying and some even dead. The story ends in unexpected ending, but rather, leaving the readers in suspense….. Who will be the Teboke next Member of Parliament?

CHARACTERS.Abdul Olwit. This is an overole character and all events in the novel rotate around him. Being a main character in the story, he turns out to be a protagonist to overtiamph the evil deeds of his opponent, Adoli Awali. Abdul Olwit is one the literate character in the story because of his access to higher to education. His education level helps him to work as a teacher and later on to work as a superintendent in Alaro Prisons’ Farm. He ismarried to Saida Achola, with two children. He is a loving and a caring person in the family. He is a determined figure in the story following the life lives while in prison. His determination compels to join politics unexpectedly following the incident between him and Adoli Awoli-the current Member of Parliament of Teboke village.Adoli Awal.This is also one of the main characters in the novel. He is the antagonist in the story, who lays foundationsagainst the interests of Abdul Olwit. Through his selfish interests and materialistic nature, he ignores the problems facing his community, this the contrary of a member of parliament is supposed to exercise, while in leadership. This is portrayed when he turns a deaf ear to cries of local people during the time of the calamity. He is a traitor, who betrays his home people by not responding positively to the current situation at hand. He also goes ahead to betray his fellow brother-Abdul Olwit by plotting to his false arrest and his untold suffering while in prison. This portrays him as an autocratic leader, who oppresses his own people. This later on leads to coercive kind of politics between him and fellow opponent, Abdul Olwit.Adwongo.

His is one of the infuencial characters in in Olwit’s life. He is the uncle to Olwit and a brother to Alicinora, Olwit’s mother. He encourages Olwit to go another course, rather than, Music-dance and dramaand his is not in terms with Adoli Awal.Father Valdez.This is a religious man in Teboke village. He attains education in theology from Italy as a father in catholic religion. The establishment of a catholic church in Teboke land made some people to lose their land, people like Oculi and this prompted him attack one of the security men at the church area. This leads to the exploitation of people’s land.
