gets tough mid-semester. I know I will always be interested in this subject because the arguments within “Undoing Gender” kept my attention the whole time. Deutsch proposesideas that are new to me regarding the notions of gender that I would love to include and expand upon in my final paper. The ideas were presented in a clear, concise and cohesive manner, and I hope I can find many more articles that introduce such profound ideas. Deutsch makes claims and then provides a lot of evidence taken from scientific studies ondifferent topics such as gendered sports like golf, and occupational opportunities based off of if a job is considered masculine or feminine. A few weaknesses the article might have regarding my personal research are the lack of a single question (as opposed to many ideas), and a focus in too many areas (workplace, academia, sports). I know that I need to narrow my options down to a one-sentence, one-question proposal, so I’ll have to do some more thinking about that. In finding an article to do a review on, I also was concerned by how many articles/books/journals came up when I searched. I will definitely have to put the library skills we learned to good use.
