with poorly managed employees and continuous resignations is at risk of failure or a poorpublic image. The senior management should have communicated with their employees toidentify problems in the administration. Also, they should have listened to other managerswho complained about Edna to find a solution to her management style.Generally, management is all about constant communication and sharing of ideasbetween employees and the employer. The employer is supposed to pay attention to theemployee's grievances and compromise whenever necessary. Employers or seniormanagement teams should learn to embrace teamwork at any levels of operation because it isthe only way maximum productivity can be achieved without risks of failure.Question 3Leadership is the behavior or actions of an individual who controls the activities of agroup or department to attain specific objectives. As a leader, Edna's uses the autocraticleadership style in the marketing department. An autocratic leadership style is a form ofleadership that is extreme, and the manager makes their own decisions (Markovic, Farooq &Vujicic, 2017). Authoritarian leadership is rigid and very few possibilities of makingadjustments to what has already been implemented. It does not provide room forindependence because the leader has a high power over their team and teammates are givenlittle to no opportunities to offer opinions or suggestions. This is evident in the case study when Edna comes back from the cottage; she givesemployees the instructions which they are supposed to follow and also gives them a strictcommunication system. During the briefing, she does not give anyone time to speak or givetheir opinion about the stated implementations. She did not ask the team if they were going tohave any issues with the new strategy. Besides, she thought they were lazy, and they neededto work hard for their salaries worth (Patel, n.d). Furthermore, she clearly states that she willnot be taking any objections from the employees whatsoever. Similarly, an autocratic leaderdoes not allow objections to their decisions. In autocratic leadership, the leader only cares about their objectives and expectations(Markovic, Farooq & Vujicic, 2017). The team is allowed to work within these expectations;otherwise, it is considered disobedience of the order. An autocratic leader does not motivateemployees, whenever employees don't meet the leader's objectives they are either punished orexpelled. For instance, Edna would point out underperformers in meetings to question themabout their commitment to the organization and scold them about time management (Patel,n.d). One time she humiliated a team member to the extent that they took stress leave.Furthermore, autocratic leadership usually leads to a high rate of employee turnoverbecause people do not like to be treated this way. After one year with Winthrop in thecompany, many long-time employees and managers in the marketing department had
