But, as we will soon learn, it is far more efficient to model signals mathematically as complex-valued . a Thus, a 1-dimensional signal is a mapping of “time”, which is either a real number (CT) or an integer (DT), to a complex number (the signal value). In this course we deal with deterministic signals which means that at a given time, there is only one possible signal value. This means the mapping is not one-to-many and is a function .
