Of the three, I scored the lowest in Searching Effectively. If there was another area, I am not sure what it was. The results only posted where I could improve. Those areas totaled 12 questions so there is another section out there that I must have missed nothing in. I still feel I have a good understanding of finding proper sources for research (Capella University Library, 2018). I utilized scholarly sources such as peer reviewed, empirical articles, and the APA PsycNet Website. I also used Psyc Info to narrow search results in my topic. I find using Boolean commands are fairly simple. Using AND narrows search results because it will only find results with all the keywords used. Using OR will find results that contain the keywords. It doesn’t matter if the source uses one or all of the words (Capella University Library, 2018). I would suggest practice when it comes to learning how to navigate with Boolean commands. That’s how I have been progressing. Insights gathered about my question is that ABA therapy is used a as a preferred method of treatment for children with ASD. By receiving these interventions, children can improve their deficits and live normal lives as independent adults (Lovaas, 1987). In the near future, I would like to do parent training as a BCBA. In my experience, parents rely too much on the therapist to improve their child’s life. Once the therapist leaves for the day, the parent does not implement what the therapist puts in place. It is my opinion and experience that it is the parent who needs the training. Since they are the ones who live with the child. Capella University Library. (2018). The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
