report but not the press release. I believe this is because the average person couldn’t identify the studies because they seem to be more well known among astronomers and not the average joe. Besides that, the press release is meant to explain the findings outside of the scientific community not to re-enforce the validity of the findings with other credited studies.The meaning in this respect is completely changed based upon the conversation Miller wants to spark within the reader. Miller must shape the context to fit the reader which consider, howshould this be structured, what language can I use to clearly communicate and, what do I need to make this a credible source? When Miller rewrote his report into the press release he knew he needed to be watered down or no one would understand what he was trying to get at. He even provides basic information to further hammer the point home on why this is important and how. Also, since this report came from him and his colleagues there was no need to put in sources, their ethos was enough for the public eye to be credible. When he tookthis into consideration he was able to shift the location successfully in changing audience while keeping the conversation intact, it’s simply on different levels of comprehension.
