sex should be viewed as a lived and changing relationship and not as an “essence” whose content is fixed Gender Systems, Ideology, and Sex Research by Carole S. Vance - gender is seen as the product of culture, not biology, even though biological and anatomical markers are used to assign individuals to gender groups - the “ sex-gender system ”: the set of arrangements by which a society transforms biological sexuality into products of human activity the male penis is a phallus which symbolizes male authority, dominance, and social power every gender system, regardless of its unique content, exhibits an ideology or cognitive system that presents gender categories as unalterable - society doesn’t see the difference between sex and gender - “Program in Human Sexuality” cartoons were presented as lighthearted, benign commentaries on sexual relations, which most of the audience found comic in reality, they reflected malignant themes in heterosexual relations such as forced penetration, male violence, female compliance and passivity, etc. the research discussed concentrated on locating the cause of transsexualism in family pathology or prenatal hormones husbands will give up power, it is suggested, if wives learn to negotiate properly; inequality is just a matter of bad communication sexual behavior is seen as an isolated and private event, not connect to the distribution of resources and power, the gender system, the organization of production, or class and race most of the speakers and participants were “sexual enthusiasts” or “modernists; sexuality was good, normal, and healthy; not dangerous or polluting; sexual behavior was unnecessarily limited by foolish and irrational beliefs and taboos

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
