would lead to limited reorganization within the system. SFT allows the therapist to have a dyadwith Lori and her eldest child as a subsystem. This approach may initially lead to disruption inthe family structure, but the disruption allows the reorganization of the system with positivechanges in emotions as the structure is restored with new guidelines (Mendez, Qureshi, Carnerio,& Hort, n.d.). Moreover, SFT is preferred because the therapist has many opportunities to applythe change to the broken family system, by addressing the rigidity, chaos, and issues related torestructuring biases (Nichols, 2014).
